To some, Liverpool’s season fell apart just before the international break, exiting the Champions League to PSG before losing to Newcastle in the EFL Cup final. However, the Reds are still 12 points clear of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table with just nine games to go. It’s simply a matter of time before they confirm title number 20, which will be their second in six years but first in front of supporters since 1989/90. That’s enough to go down as a successful campaign for anybody, let alone in Arne Slot’s first season in charge.

There are fitness doubts surrounding Alisson and Ryan Gravenberch following the international break, but both are expected to be fit, while Conor Bradley should return to action after a muscle injury.

That’s good timing with Trent Alexander-Arnold — who looks set to leave Anfield this summer — out with an ankle problem.

Joe Gomez is out until the end of April with a hamstring problem, but Slot will have the rest of his key players available for the visit of Everton.

Can Mohamed Salah catch Haaland record?

Erling Haaland’s 2022/23 campaign — his first at Man City — was unlike anything we’ve ever seen before.

The Norway international netted a ridiculous 36 goals in the Premier League alone, which is remarkable given he actually missed three games. That was enough to break not only Mohamed Salah’s 38-game season record of 32, but also Andy Cole and Alan Shearer’s overall record of 34.

It was hard at the time to imagine another goalscoring season like it in the English top-flight, but here we are after 29 games with Salah sat on 27. He has nine games to score 10 goals and beat Haaland’s record.

But more than that, Salah is also sitting on a whopping 17 assists, needing just four more to beat the record set by Kevin De Bruyne and Thierry Henry in 2019/20 and 2002/03, respectively.

Salah has already equalled the 38-game season record for most goal involvements on 44 and needs just four more to set the overall Premier League record.

Oh, and did we mention that Salah has eight goals and two assists against Merseyside rivals Everton to date?
