Liverpool host Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie this evening.
Arne Slot’s side are a goal down from the first meeting in North London and looking to achieve another Anfield comeback tonight.
The Reds warmed up for the contest with an impressive 2-0 win at in-form Bournemouth at the weekend. That result maintained their position at the top of the Premier League table, as Mohamed Salah struck twice on the south coast.
Tottenham have endured a difficult campaign under Ange Postecoglou but are hoping to salvage their season with elusive silverware. The North Londoners have failed to win a major trophy since last lifting this competition in 2008. Spurs will head to Anfield with increased optimism, however, after back-to-back wins over IF Elfsborg and Brentford.
Arne Slot has confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold will not feature against Spurs. The right-back was substituted during the win at Bournemouth with a leg issue and will play no part tonight. He is also a doubt for this weekend’s FA Cup clash at Plymouth Argyle.
Conor Bradley is expected to deputise for the Liverpool vice-captain. Slot has an otherwise full-strength squad to choose from as the Reds look to complete a cup comeback.
Liverpool predicted XI: Alisson; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai; Salah, Gakpo, Diaz.
