Paris Saint-Germain have been focused on signing young, emerging talent in recent transfer windows, but both Luis Enrique and Luis Campos recognize the value of experience—provided it fits with the club’s culture and playing style.
One area they may look to strengthen is defense, especially with Milan Skriniar expected to leave permanently this summer after his loan to Fenerbahçe.
Rather than making a big-money signing, PSG could consider a short-term deal with a well-known target. Virgil van Dijk is nearing the end of his contract, and reports indicate he’s on the club’s radar. Nonetheless, there are conflicting reports on this file.
According to Anfield Watch, PSG are preparing an €80 million offer over two years for Liverpool’s captain, with an option for a third season. A significant signing bonus could push the total package to €100 million.
Meanwhile, ESPN’s Julien Laurens echoed that sentiment, stating that a deal isn’t close—despite a video surfacing of the Liverpool captain with PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos.

Fichajes reports that Liverpool are targeting Piero Hincapié to strengthen their defense and potentially cover for Virgil van Dijk’s departure. The Ecuadorian, a key player at Bayer Leverkusen, is seen as the perfect candidate to lead Arne Slot’s defense.
As for Van Dijk, Barcelona are among the clubs interested in him. The Catalan side are looking to bolster their defense with a top-tier signing and are eyeing the veteran, who could join as a free agent this summer.
Barcelona are reportedly planning to offer Van Dijk a two-year contract, hoping to entice him with a competitive project despite financial constraints. The deal will depend on whether Van Dijk is willing to adjust his salary expectations, as his current wages at Liverpool are high and the club faces financial challenges.
