Liverpool make the long trip to Plymouth in the FA Cup’s fourth round this afternoon.
Arne Slot’s side booked their place in the Carabao Cup final on Thursday night and are targeting progress in another cup competition. The Reds overturned a first-leg deficit to beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 at Anfield, a result that followed an impressive 2-0 win at Bournemouth in the Premier League.
Slot refused to rule out a potential quadruple in Friday’s press conference. He admitted Liverpool are in a ‘very good place’ across all competitions this season.
Liverpool next take on a Plymouth team struggling in the second tier. The Pilgrims are bottom of the Championship, though upset top-flight opposition Brentford in the previous round.
Arne Slot has confirmed he will rotate his options for the cup tie at Home Park. Liverpool face Everton in a crucial Merseyside Derby on Wednesday night and the Reds’ big hitters are likely to be afforded rest.
The changes could hand minutes to the likes of Federico Chiesa, Harvey Elliott and Wataru Endo, each of whom have struggled for regular roles this season. 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha started the win over Accrington Stanley in round three and will hope for involvement again.
In terms of injuries, Trent Alexander-Arnold remains sidelined but is a chance to feature in midweek. Joe Gomez returned to training this week and could start, though Tyler Morton is out with a shoulder issue.
Liverpool: Kelleher; Bradley, Quansah, Gomez, Tsimikas; Mac Allister, Endo; Chiesa, Elliott, Diaz, Jota.
Plymouth host Liverpool in the FA Cup’s fourth round on Sunday 9th February 2025. Kick-off at Home Park will be at 15:00 GMT
