Liverpool flexed their muscles at the summit of the Premier League once again on Saturday as they put Ipswich Town to the sword.

Arne Slot's side maintained their six-point lead over title rivals Arsenal following an emphatic 4-1 victory at Anfield, with Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai starring as the unflappable Reds continue to assert their dominance.

The Gunners were also in action on Saturday and were narrow victors in their trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers, but Liverpool did at least open up a nine-point gap on third-placed Nottingham Forest. The Reds know they have a game in hand on their foes, too.

Here are Liverpool's next five Premier League fixtures - and how they compare to Arsenal's.

There are some banana skin fixtures for Liverpool on the horizon and their title credentials will be tested across February. They begin a challenging month with the long journey to Bournemouth, who are one of the division's form sides. The Cherries have scored nine during their last two games against Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest and Slot will need to be wary of the south coast outfit.

Things don't get much simpler 11 days later as Liverpool are on the road again. Their journey is much shorter on this occasion, however, with the Reds simply crossing Stanley Park to face Merseyside rivals Everton. The rearranged fixture will be Liverpool's final trip to Goodison Park - barring an unlikely FA Cup meeting - and they will be tested by the resurgent Toffees.

Liverpool return to Anfield in mid-February as they welcome favoured opponents Wolves to Merseyside. The Reds have won 12 of their last 14 meetings with the Old Gold and haven't lost in this fixture on home soil since a shock FA Cup defeat in 2017.

Man City vs Liverpool has long felt like a title-deciding fixture but the struggles of the Cityzens this term mean it's not quite as high-profile as in previous years. Still, it will be an incredibly tough assignment for the Reds, who have failed to win at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League since November 2015. A repeat of that 4-1 triumph would be welcomed by Slot.

Liverpool close out February with a fixture that tends to produce an abundance of drama as Newcastle visit Merseyside. The meeting back in early December finished 3-3 following a thrilling second half at St James' Park but the Magpies haven't beaten the Reds since 2015/16 and are without victory at Anfield since 1995.

Liverpool are not the only team concerning themselves with reigning champions Man City in the near future, with Arsenal also duelling Pep Guardiola's men. The Gunners host their recent title rivals next weekend as they seek to extend their four-game unbeaten run against them at the very least. Victory would serve as an enormous confidence boost heading into the rest of the campaign.

Fairly routine league fixtures away at Leicester City and at home to West Ham United follow, with the Gunners having scored four against the Foxes and five against the Irons already this term. Any slip-ups in those duels could prove catastrophic.

Things get tougher for the Gunners in their final league match of February as they make the now nerve-inducing trip to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest. The Tricky Trees are just three points behind Arsenal and have won three of their last four home meetings with the north London giants.

Liverpool supporters will be in a strange position at the beginning of February as they cross their fingers in hope of a Manchester United victory. The misfiring Red Devils, who beat Arsenal in the FA Cup third round earlier in January, welcome Mikel Arteta's men to Old Trafford as they look to get one over on their historic rivals.
