Liverpool have begun their new era under Arne Slot with an impressive pre-season, not one single signing has been made.

The Reds still have a strong side capable of fighting with the very best, but with a new manager and a new style of play being introduced, fans have been calling for additions to be added to the squad.

PLAYERS IN

This summer transfer window has been an extremely quiet one for Liverpool in their first summer without Jurgen Klopp. Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi was heavily linked with a move in the past couple of weeks, but the Spaniard has decided to stay at the Basque club. Anthony Gordon was reportedly close to a deal to join the Reds which would have seen Joe Gomez head to Newcastle, but that was to appease PSR and did not end up materialising.

PLAYERS OUT

Jurgen Klopp was not the only person who departed the Reds this summer, with a couple of experienced players bringing their Liverpool careers to an end. Thiago announced his retirement from football after four years on Merseyside, whilst stalwarts Joel Matip and Adrian also departed after the expiration of their contracts. Fabio Carvalho, who has had a mixed two seasons in red, making only 21 appearances, has left the club to join Brentford in a deal worth £27.5m.

WHAT STILL NEEDS TO BE DONE

Arne Slot has only been officially at Liverpool for just over a month and he is yet to see the club sign a single player. The front line is stacked up with the experience of Mohammed Salah and the youthfulness of Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez. Watara Endo, one of Jurgen Klopp’s final signings, appears to be out of favour under Slot so a progressive ball player number six will be on the Dutchman’s radar. Ibrahima Konate looks to be behind Jarrell Quansah in the pecking order and potentially Joe Gomez looks to also be in contention, but their injury problems may lead to the Reds dipping into the market for another central defender.
