Former France international striker Loïc Rémy has decided to hang up his boots at the age of 36. The prolific attacker, of Martinican origin, recently revealed his retirement plans on Prime Video, marking the end of carrer which has lasted over a decade.

Rémy, who was without a club following his brief stint with Stade Brestois at the end of the last season, leaves behind a record that includes 31 appearances for the French national team between 2009 and 2014, during which he scored 7 goals.

Rémy began his career in the youth ranks of Olympique Lyonnais, going on to represent several more clubs in France including RC Lens, OGC Nice, Olympique de Marseille, and Lille. He also plied his trade in the Premier League with Chelsea, Newcastle United, Queens Park Rangers (QPR), and Crystal Palace. Rémy’s journey took him to La Liga, where he represented Las Palmas and Levante, and eventuly to the Turkish Super Lïg, where he featured for Rizespor and Adana Demirspor.
