London City Lionesses forward Lotta Lindström has sustained an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury.

The Pride confirmed the news via a post on their official club X account this evening.

The 20-year-old Finnish international featured in London City Lionesses’ opening game of the new Barclays Women’s Championship season against Newcastle United at Hayes Lane. Lindström was particularly lively in that match and she set up Kosovare Asllani for London City Lionesses’ equalising goal in the 1-1 draw.

Lindström was a notable absentee from the London City Lionesses matchday squad on Sunday when the club took on Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park and it has now been reported that the player has sustained an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury.

The youngster is expected to miss the remainder of the 2024/2025 season. She will now begin her rehabilitation programme with the full support of the London City Lionesses medical staff.

London City Lionesses continue the 2024/2025 campaign without Lindström when they play host to fellow promotion hopefuls Bristol City at Hayes Lane on Sunday. Both sides go into that fixture off the back of unbeaten starts. London City Lionesses have collected four points from their opening two league matches while Bristol City have recorded back-to-back draws.
