Barcelona starlet Marc Bernal is set to join the rest of Hansi Flick’s squad on their upcoming trip to Saudi Arabia for the Spanish Super Cup.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Sunday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.
Bernal, for his part, was of course dealt a hammer blow back in August.
After establishing himself as a key figure in the engine room setup of new boss Hansi Flick at just 17 years of age, Bernal picked up a knee problem late in a 2-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano.
As much was subsequently confirmed to be an ACL tear, ruling the starlet out for the long-term.
Recent word stemming from the media has pointed towards Bernal being ahead of schedule in his recovery, already with one eye on a return to the pitch.
And, amid these ongoing efforts, the midfielder is evidently keen to maintain a close bond with his teammates.
This comes amid confirmation on the part of the aforementioned MD that Bernal has requested to join Barcelona’s squad on their journey to Saudi Arabia for this week’s Spanish Super Cup, a plea which has since been granted by boss Hansi Flick.
