A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has early this week taken a significant step towards a return to the pitch.
The player in question? David Alaba.
Stopper Alaba, for his part, has of course been confined to the sidelines since December of last year.
As much comes after the Austrian international became the third member of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad in the space of mere months to suffer a torn ACL.
Alaba, in turn, went under the knife to repair the problem, with the aim of linking back up with his teammates in Madrid early this season.
Reports in the media have long pointed towards the former Bayern Munich man’s recovery as coming along slower than hoped, but, on Monday, all of a Real persuasion were afforded some positive news.
This comes amid confirmation that, for the first time since last year, Alaba has taken to the grass on the training pitch:
