Lille sent out a warning for their supporters to be wary after circa 30 fans were attacked by Bologna ultras ahead of tonight’s Champions League game.
The incident happened last night at the Cluricaune Irish pub in Via Zamboni.
According to local reports, circa 30 Lille fans were in the pub when a group of masked Bologna ultras armed with iron bars and knives launched a sudden, unprovoked ambush attack.
Police arrived in riot gear, but the attack only lasted a few minutes before the hooligans ran off.
A statement from the official Lille social media team urges fans to be vigilant this evening, as three people were taken to hospital with stab wounds, but released following treatment.

That was not all, as local police in Italy also note that four or five Bologna ultras climbed into the garden of the hotel where the Lille team was staying and launched fireworks in a bid to disturb the sleep of the players.
Sadly, it is the second time that Bologna have been involved in incidents with French fans, as some AS Monaco supporters were also attacked after a Champions League match earlier this month.
