The Giallorossi beat Athletic Club 2-1 at home, while Lazio secured the same result away at Viktoria Plzen.

Roma and Lazio are on opposite sides of the Europa League bracket, so they could potentially meet in the Final.

The Biancocelesti President Lotito said he would not fear meeting their city rivals at the Estadio San Mames in Bilbao on May 21.

“Do I fear a European final against Roma? I fear nothing,” he said via LaLazioSiamoNoi.

“If I recall correctly, there was a Coppa Italia final on May 26 [2013] in which Lazio were the protagonist on the field and won the prestigious trophy. If a similar scenario were to bring Italian football into the spotlight and contribute to improving the ranking, then so be it.”

Lazio fit fifth in the Serie A table but are just two points below fourth-placed Juventus, so their dreams to qualify for the Champions League are still alive.

“Right now, we shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves, let’s see how far we can go,” said Lotito.

“We need to stay focused and take it one match at a time.”
