Claudio Lotito is delighted Marco Baroni speaks his ‘same language’, while Maurizio Sarri lost the Lazio dressing room and Igor Tudor thought he was the ‘club owner’.

Lotito spoke about the many Lazio changes in recent months in an interview with DAZN.

Sarri resigned in March and was replaced by Igor Tudor, but the former defender also left the club three months later.

“I was on good terms with Sarri. He has his own attitude and political ideas, but we had good chemistry based on mutual respect,” said Lotito.

“After a bad game at the Olimpico, I noticed the team lost the desire to fight. He agreed, so we sent the team to a training retreat. Some players didn’t take it well. Perhaps they no longer felt committed, but the retreat showed a deep problem. Sarri understood he could no longer lead the dressing room, so he resigned.

“The team partially reacted with Tudor,” continued Lotito.

“However, at the end of the season, he said we had to make some drastic changes, including the sale of some players who had caused problems. We understood the time had come to remove someone who felt like the club owner. Now we have a coach who speaks the same language and wants to prove his worth. It’s evident that everyone must be united behind him.”
