According to a report from Téléfoot journalist Saber Desfarges, Olympique Lyonnais has rejected Galatasaray’s offer of almost €21 million, including bonuses for Georges Mikautadze (24).
Mikautadze re-joined his formative club ahead of the 2024/25 season from FC Metz for a reported €18.5 million. And while he struggled near the start of the season, he has managed to capitalise on limited minutes and scored seven and assisted one.
Due to Lyon’s current financial situation which has seen the DNCG (the French football financial watchdog) provide the club with a provisional relegation, there has been the sense that any player is on the market for the club as they are in desperate need of sales.
However, Lyon want to keep Mikautadze as they consider him the heir apparent to Alexandre Lacazette (33), who is expected to leave his boyhood club when his contract expires at the end of the season. It will therefore likely take a significant offer for the club to consider selling him, although interest from Everton and Bayer Leverkusen is mounting.
