La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Milan keeper Mike Maignan complained to the referee about racist abuse from Verona fans during a Serie A meeting on Friday.
Maignan told referee Livio Marinelli that he had received racist abuse on Friday night during a Serie A game between Milan and Verona at the Stadio Bentegodi.

Gazzetta said the French keeper reported the insults to the referee after the final whistle. Reporters of the pink paper in Verona also heard racist slurs coming from the stands during the game.
Maignan was already subject to racist abuse during an away Serie A match at Udinese last season.
That time, insults were even louder, prompting the goalkeeper to leave the pitch for a few minutes. This time, Maignan complained to the referee after the final whistle after hearing racist remarks in the second half.
Maignan joined Milan from Lille in 2021. His contract at San Siro expires in 2026, but the Rossoneri are in advanced talks to extend the goalkeeper’s stay at the club.
