Manchester City have unveiled a statue of Sergio Agüero as they mark 10 years since his title-winning goal against QPR.
The statue is the third to be put up outside the Etihad Stadium, joining ones of Vincent Kompany and David Silva.
Agüero’s celebration after scoring that goal with the clock on 93:20 has now been immortalised and the player himself said:
“Truthfully, it is a very beautiful thing for me, to see myself 10 years ago is very moving.
In those 10 years I was able to win a lot of trophies and was able to help the Club become one of the most important in the world.
I am very grateful to the Club for making this statue in recognition of my football career in Manchester. It is something very special.”
The Argentine left City last year as the club’s all time top goalscorer, netting 260 times for the club.
