Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen who is coming off a lengthy injury ordeal.

The Dane spent ten years at Chelsea filled with highs and lows before switching his allegiance in the summer of 2022 when he signed for the Blaugrana on a free transfer. The 28-year-old was a regular starter under Xavi last season, making 30 appearances in LaLiga. The Barcelona legend even hailed him as an ‘extraordinary’ player.

However, the centre-back’s current campaign has been plagued by an Achilles tendon injury that has ruled him out of action since August. The player is now preparing to return to the pitch after a long and painful ordeal, but it remains to be seen if he’ll be able to carve himself a place in Hansi Flick’s plans, as the German manager has been relying on other profiles for months.

But according to Mundo Deportivo, Christensen has several admirers among the big European boys if he finds himself unwanted at Camp Nou.

The Spanish newspaper names Juventus as the most interested suitor, especially amidst their injury crisis at the back. Nevertheless, the source claims that Man Utd have also inquired about the player in the last few hours.

Ruben Amorim could be interested in adding a new defender to the fold, especially with Johny Evans and Victor Lindelof expected to leave at the end of the season. Even Harry Maguire is running on an expiring contract, but he’s widely tipped to pen a renewal.

As for Christensen, his contract with Barcelona runs until June 2026, and he has recently expressed his desire to remain with the Catalan giants. The Denmark international should make his return from injury in the coming days.
