Manchester United secured a thrilling 2-1 victory over Rangers in the UEFA Europa League at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils thought they had taken the lead from a corner but the referee bizarrely ruled it out for a non-existent foul.
Former United goalkeeper Jack Butland, now between the sticks for Rangers, made a costly error after the break, gifting United the lead.
It seemed like the hosts would cruise to a comfortable win but Cyriel Dessers stunned them with an equaliser in the 88th minute.
However, United captain Bruno Fernandes had the final say, blasting a powerful shot into the net just four minutes later to seal the victory.
Altay Bayindir – 6/10
Bayindir was solid for large parts of the game but should have reacted better to the equalising goal.
Leny Yoro – 6/10
Yoro joined the attack occasionally but could take more risk with his ball distribution.
It looked like he picked up a knock when he came off at the 55th minute.
Matthijs de Ligt – 6/10
His goal was ruled out due to a baffling decision from the officials.
Lisandro Martinez – 8/10
Martinez tested Butland with a powerful piledriver shot before the break.
He delivered a sublime left-footed cross to Fernandes for the match-winning goal.
Amad Diallo – 6/10
Diallo chose to smash his strike past the goalkeeper rather than chip it over him when Fernandes set him up in the first half.
Diogo Dalot – 5/10
His support in the attack was limited and played as a right centre-back for the last half hour.
Toby Collyer – 6/10
It was his first European start of his career and he fared well.
He gave away the ball cheaply which led to Rangers’ first serious attack. He held his nerves after that incident to put in a tidy shift.
Bruno Fernandes – 8/10
The United skipper set up a golden opportunity for Amad Diallo. He came close to scoring but his deflected shot just went over the bar.
He came to United’s rescue with an emphatic finish in the added time.
Christian Eriksen – 6/10
Eriksen may not have added much flair to the attack but he was deadly from set-pieces.
His inswinging corner was flicked into the net by Butland. He delivered a perfect ball to Harry Maguire but the latter miscued his header.
Alejandro Garnacho – 7/10
No goals to show but Garnacho looked dangerous with the ball at his feet.
He took defenders on and tried to create opportunities. He hit the post with one of his shot but should have done better with it.
Joshua Zirkzee – 5/10
Zirkzee was preferred over Rasmus Hojlund but failed to pose any real goal threat.
Harry Maguire – 3/10
Maguire put in his weakest performance under Amorim.
He missed a sitter to hand United a two-goal lead and followed it up with a terrible error that handed Rangers to level the score.
Tyrell Malacia – 5/10
Similar to Dalot, he did not offer much support in the final third.
Manuel Ugarte – 6/10
His headed shot was straight at the goalkeeper.
Kobbie Mainoo – 5/10
Mainoo still need work on his creativity.
Rasmus Hojlund – NA
Too late to rate.
