Manchester United star Marcus Rashford prefers a move to Barcelona during the winter transfer window, according to NBC Sports journalist David Ornstein.

The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a loan exit. He was on AC Milan’s radar earlier this month, but they couldn’t afford his weekly salary.

The Rossoneri have decided to sign Kyle Walker from Manchester City instead to occupy their final non-EU spot.

Rashford now prefers to join the Blaugrana, but a move won’t be straightforward.

Barcelona’s financial issues pose a significant barrier to afford Rashford’s £300,000 per week salary for the remainder of the ongoing campaign.

Rashford could stay unless United compensate his salary

Rashford was dropped by manager Ruben Amorim for the Manchester derby last month.

He has not played in the last nine games for the Red Devils. He was on the bench against Newcastle United, but the manager decided against bringing him on.

It is clear that the relationship between Rashford and Amorim has soured, but the forward is reportedly ready to fix things with the Portuguese tactician.

Barcelona’s chances of signing him seem unlikely. Manager Hansi Flick has opened the door for Ansu Fati’s exit, but the player has yet to consider a move.

If Fati were to leave, the Catalan outfit may still want United to pay part of Rashford’s wages. The £46 million-rated star is likely to stay at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Antony looks poised to join Real Betis on loan, while Alejandro Garnacho may move to Chelsea. His agent was spotted at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
