Manchester United star Marcus Rashford would need to make a financial sacrifice in order to seal a move to Barcelona next summer.

That’s according to Diario Sport, citing Sky Sport, who have on Tuesday provided an insight into the situation.

The name of wide-man Rashford has of course proven itself a prominent one in the headlines in Spain over the course of the last week.

This comes after the revelation that the England international is expected to depart Old Trafford in 2025 was swiftly followed by links with the aforementioned Barcelona.

The Blaugrana are known to be on the lookout for reinforcements out wide with a view to next season, with Rashford tipped as a legitimate option.

For any such deal to have a chance at coming to fruition, though, the player himself would be required to cut his salary, and by a significant margin.

As per Sport, Rashford currently earns around €16 million-per-season at Manchester United.

No such figure would be on the table in Catalunya’s capital, meaning the 27-year-old would need to make clear his readiness to reduce his wages for Barcelona to formalise their interest.
