Manchester United produced a stunning late comeback to claim bragging rights in the Manchester derby with Amad Diallo playing a starring role.
Ruben Amorim has changed the way the team plays and their patient approach paid dividends with Sunday’s win coming despite the head coach dropping both Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford from the matchday squad.
The Mancunian’s on-field displays and off-field issues have meant there has been an increase in chatter regarding a shock January exit with INEOS reportedly open to a cut-price sale.
Despite a decent start to life as United boss, Amorim needs reinforcements up top but PSR concerns mean the club cannot afford an extravagant outlay in the winter.
Loan deals could be the order of the day and Paris Saint-Germain’s Randal Kolo Muani is available on a temporary basis with TBR Football claiming United, Arsenal and City will be competing for the Frenchman’s signature in January.
The 26-year-old has managed only two starts this season for PSG, notching two goals and one assist and has not had the best of times in the French capital since his move in 2023.
The “complete” striker was on fire back at Eintracht Frankfurt a couple of seasons ago, hitting 23 goals and registering 17 assists in 46 games. And his track record has meant that English clubs remain interested despite his meagre recent returns.
A move to the Premier League appeals to the France international with PSG looking to include an option to buy in the loan arrangement.
“TBR Football understands that a number of Premier League clubs have now stepped up talks over the possibility of signing Paris Saint-Germain striker, Randal Kolo Muani.
“Arsenal, Man United and Manchester City have all expressed an interest in taking the French star in January with PSG willing to sanction a loan move with an option to buy in the future.
“United also feel as if they could strengthen Amorim’s options and the chance to loan Kolo Muani appeals to the club given the constraints they are experiencing with PSR.”
Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have not exactly set the stage alight and Kolo Muani could be a decent short-term option. Now for INEOS to take the final call.
