Ruben Amorim has key midfielder back on the bench
Manchester United have Manuel Ugarte on the bench for tonight’s Europa League last-16 second-leg decider against Real Sociedad, as Ayden Heaven starts in defence.
The tie is finely poised as both sides look to make it into the quarter-finals of the competition after a 1-1 draw out in Spain last week.
Ruben Amorim’s side followed that up with another 1-1 draw against Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday, impressing in the second half at Old Trafford.
Ugarte has returned to training and could be involved at some point against Sociedad this evening. Mason Mount also trained on Wednesday as he looks to put his injury nightmare behind him, but this game comes too soon.
Harry Maguire does not feature tonight and neither will Leny Yoro, with the latter having been forced off against the Gunners with a foot problem. January signing Heaven therefore gets his chance.
Amorim has Patrick Dorgu available despite a domestic suspension following a red card against Ipswich last month.
Amad Diallo, Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw could all feature before the end for the season but remain unavailable for tonight’s clash. Lisandro Martinez, Jonny Evans, Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton are also still sidelined.
Young striker Chido Obi is ineligible for Europa League competition, having not been registered in their squad for the knockout stages.
Man Utd XI: Onana; Mazraoui, De Ligt, Heaven; Dalot, Fernandes, Casemiro, Dorgu; Garnacho, Hojlund, Zirkzee
Subs: Mee, Harrison, Lindelof, Fredricson, Ugarte, Collyer, Eriksen, Fletcher, Amass, Scanlon.
