Manchester United are reportedly in the fray for Atalanta midfielder Ederson who is considered one of the most sought-after stars in Europe at this stage.
The 25-year-old has been plying his trade in Bergamo since 2022, rounding off his game under the tutelage of the experienced Gian Piero Gasperini who views him as an irreplaceable piece in his tactical jigsaw.
The Brazilian has now emerged as a complete midfielder capable of offering his contribution in both phases of the game. He has also been described as a ‘relentless’ player for his incredible work ethic. Hence, Atalanta certainly won’t see him on the cheap.
According to CaughtOffside, the Serie A boys have named their price at €60 million after receiving enquiries from Man Utd and other Premier League giants.

As the source explains, Ederson is a primary target of Manchester City who have been monitoring his progress for quite some time. They even attempted to sign him in January following Rodri’s devastating ACL injury, but eventually settled on Porto’s Nico Gonzalez. But with Ilkay Gundogan potentially leaving the Etihad, there could be some room for the Brazilian among Pep Guardiola’s ranks.
Nevertheless, Man Utd and Liverpool have also entered the race. As the report speculates, Ederson would likely favour a move to Anfield given all the turbulence reigning at Carrington. However, Man Utd share a good rapport with Atalanta having signed Amad Diallo and Rasmus Hojlund in recent years, so they could potentially put it to good use in their attempts to leapfrog their rivals in the race.
Ruben Amorim’s squad could definitely do with a new young and athletic midfielder, especially with Christian Eriksen and Casemiro heading towards the exit door in the summer, and Manuel Ugarte enduring highs and lows.
