Premier League giants Manchester United have joined Barcelona in the race for unsettled Napoli superstar Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. According to Sport Mediaset via Sport, the Red Devils keep close tabs on the Georgian winger’s contract wobble at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

Negotiations between Napoli and Kvaratskhelia over a contract renewal have hit a standstill. Despite offering their star forward a significant pay rise, they’ve yet to meet his demands. The 23-year-old currently earns only €1.2 million net per season.

Meanwhile, Napoli are eager to boost his wages, offering him a new deal worth around €6m per year, plus add-ons. However, Kvaratskhelia’s camp remains radio-silent. With the player seemingly reluctant to accept Napoli’s terms, Aurelio De Laurentiis contemplates offloading the ex-Dinamo Batumi ace next summer.

Kvaratskhelia’s current contract expires in 2027, which puts Napoli in a solid bargaining position. On top of that, the Italians anticipate a transfer tug-of-war for their sought-after talisman. In addition to long-term admirers Barcelona, Kvaratskhelia’s situation have caught Man Utd’s attention.

Indeed, Ruben Amorim’s charges are willing to offer the Napoli winger a hefty €8m annual salary to persuade him to swap Serie A for Old Trafford. That’s €2m short of Paris Saint-Germain’s proposal in the summer. PSG’s lucrative advance nearly led to Kvaratskhelia’s departure.

However, the deal never came through as Napoli refused to negotiate the Georgian’s exit. But that could change next summer. Kvaratskhelia has failed to impress this season, with Antonio Conte pulling him out midway through the second half duringNapoli’s 1-0 home win against Roma last weekend.
