Manchester United have accepted an offer for youngster Noam Emeran from Dutch second-tier club Groningen, according to reports.

The Red Devils have been looking to raise money from player sales this summer with speculation before the transfer window opened that Erik ten Hag wanted as much as £100m from departures to fund his recruitment drive.

But, according to Transfermarkt, Man Utd have so far only managed to around €38m (£32m) with Anthony Elanga and Fred bringing in the most money from their five sales.

Rasmus Hojlund, Mason Mount and Andre Onana are Ten Hag’s three major signings so far this summer and Man Utd will continue to offload in order to bring in more stars.

One player who looks likely to leave now is Emeran with Football Insider claiming that the Frenchman ‘has agreed to join’ Groningen in the second tier of Dutch football.

The report adds that Emeran ‘has been granted permission to undergo a medical and discuss terms after United accepted a six-figure offer for him’.

Despite playing well in pre-season friendlies with the first team, Man Utd have decided to allow him to move on with little chance of the former France Under-16 international challenging for a place in Ten Hag’s squad this term.

The 20-year-old, who is yet to make an appearance in a competitive match for the first team, has just one year left on his contract after signing from French side Amiens in 2019.

with the Morocco international linked to Man Utd throughout the summer transfer window.

Quotidiano.net (via Sport Witness) claims that Fiorentina are still ‘waiting for a nod’ from Man Utd over a potential transfer with the Premier League side making ‘an appointment’ to discuss the transfer this week.

The Serie A outfit are still looking for €25-30m from Man Utd and the report makes it clear that they won’t be giving out any discounts to interested parties.

Despite beating Wolves 1-0 in their opening match of the season, the Red Devils have been criticised for their first two performances against Tottenham and Gary O’Neil’s men.

Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards still thinks Man Utd are lacking a number nine with Marcus Rashford playing much better out wide.

Richards said on The Rest Is Football podcast: “I don’t know if Rashford wants to play as a striker or if he wants to play on the left.

“But I think he needs to play on the left, I think they need a proper number nine, someone who can get hold of the ball so the rest of the team can play off him.”
