It has been assumed that Maghnes Akliouche (23) would leave his formative club, AS Monaco, at the end of the season, however, the France youth international has hinted at remaining with Les Monégasques.

Akliouche was the subject of interest from Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain last summer, however, he opted to remain at Monaco, even signing an extension. The pair retain their interest, whilst there is also fresh interest from Manchester United with the transfer window approaching.

All the signs have indicated that Akliouche will leave the Principality club this summer. After the best and most consistent season of his career, he has bolstered his value and Monaco have a strategy of selling their academy products when they are ripe. Monaco are open to selling Akliouche this summer, Get French Football News understands, with a fee of €70m touted.

Akliouche, however, is seemingly in no rush to leave and would be more than happy to continue at Monaco beyond the summer. “I am under contract at Monaco and I hope that I will be here next season, why not?,” he said in a mixed zone interview after Les Monégasques’ win over Olympique Lyonnais on Saturday.

That win means that Monaco will compete in the UEFA Champions League once again this season.
