Manchester City’s buy-back clause for Micah Hamilton, who they have sold to Middlesbrough, is higher than the £11m which has been claimed, according to Sky Sports News.

The 20-year-old forward came through the youth ranks of Manchester City and he was promoted to the first team last season.

Hamilton also made three senior appearances for Manchester City last term and one of them was a Champions League group-stage start against Red Star Belgrade, where he scored and assisted once.

Championship side Middlesbrough have just completed the signing of Hamilton to boost Michael Carrick’s squad.

The Cityzens are receiving a total of £3.7m package for Hamilton with a buy-back clause.

It was suggested that the Premier League side have an £11m buy-back clause in the Hamilton deal but now it has been claimed that the buy-back clause is significantly higher than £11m.

Hamilton joined Michael Carrick’s side on a four-year deal and he will be looking to cement a starting spot quickly.

Manchester City will keep a keen eye on Hamilton’s performances at Middlesbrough and if he does well there, they could be tempted to activate the buy-back option.
