This includes special matchday takeovers at Sunday’s away game against Liverpool and our home fixture against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday 4 December.

Rainbow armbands will be worn by captains across both fixtures, while Wednesday’s matchday programme will feature an interview with City Matters LGBTQ+ Representative Lee Broadstock who talks about his role and the importance of the Rainbow Laces Campaign.

Meanwhile, the Barclays Women’s Super League Rainbow Laces takeover took place earlier in November.

On 16 November, our Women’s First Team went to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea with captain Alex Greenwood wearing the rainbow armband in solidarity with Rainbow Laces.

Manchester City are dedicated to advocating, maintaining and inspiring inclusivity throughout the season.

The Rainbow Laces campaign provides an opportunity to focus on the year-round equality, diversity, and inclusion work that takes place.

City in the Community will also be showing its support for the campaign, by handing out Rainbow Laces to participants, as well as delivering sessions on inclusion throughout the academic year across its programmes.

The Premier League has partnered with Stonewall since 2017 and, along with Clubs, has developed a wide range of programmes and initiatives that set the benchmark for LGBTQ+ inclusivity in sport.

With the campaign underway, the Premier League has launched new educational resources on allyship and Rainbow Laces, encouraging further acceptance in football.
