In a recent post on X, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Manchester City have identified Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White as a transfer target. It is believed that the Mancunian club are planning to move in for the English playmaker in this summer transfer period.
The 25-year-old is having a productive campaign at the Midlands club as he has managed to put in several eye-catching displays for them in the final third. Gibbs-White has registered five goals and grabbed nine assists in 35 matches for Nottingham this season in multiple competitions.
The English talent has been a consistent performer in the opposition half based on his average of 1.7 shots, 1.5 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has even been tidy when distributing the ball in the final third after completing 80.3% of his attempted passes in the English first division (stats via whoscored).
His current deal at the City Ground will run out in the summer of 2027. Thus, Man City would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting Gibbs-White at the end of this campaign.

Gibbs-White can strike the ball with power and precision from long range. He has also got the vision to create some inviting chances for his teammates to find the back of the net. The English attacker is a good dribbler with the ball as well. He mainly operates in the number ten position but can also function as a box-to-box midfielder or as a right-sided wide player if required.
We can expect Gibbs-White to bring more quality to Man City boss Pep Guardiola‘s frontline. He is good enough to challenge for regular first-team football at the Etihad Stadium next season.
At 25, Gibbs-White has his best years ahead of him which makes him a worthy target for Man City to consider this off-season. He has already got some experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to settle into life at the Mancunian club. Therefore, Man City would be wise to try everything they can to get him on board in this summer transfer period.
