Omar Marmoush will add a key ingredient that Manchester City lacks in their squad.

Outside of Erling Haaland, Pep Guardiola’s side has lacked a consistent goal scorer this season. The sale of Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid did leave a void in City’s squad. So far this season it hasn’t been filled. In statistics sourced from transfermarkt.com Haaland has scored 21 goals in all competitions. City’s next best scorers are Jeremy Doku and Phil Foden with 5. That statistic shows the hole in Manchester City’s attack. It’s an issue that Pep Guardiola is fully aware of.

Speaking after his team’s emphatic 8-nil win over Salford City, Pep Guardiola emphasised that his team cannot be solely reliant on Erling Haaland to score their goals. The City manager explained: “If you have to rely just on the goals with Erling Haaland, it’s impossible. The biggest clubs who win the championships or win the championships for many years, the reason was the striker scores goals – in the past with Sergio (Aguero), with Gabriel (Jesus), with everyone – but also Riyad (Mahrez), and Leroy (Sane), and Raheem (Sterling), and Gundogan. It was a lot of players scoring a lot of goals, and we need that. Otherwise, we cannot sustain.

If Manchester City can complete a deal for Omar Marmoush he will add another consistent goal-scorer to Pep Guardiola’s squad. So far this season Marmoush has scored 19 goals in 25 appearances. Playing primarily as a striker for Eintracht Frankfurt he has starred. His ability to find the back of the net has stood out in his play. Marmoush is much more as a player than just a striker but if he can become consistent scorer for Pep Guardiola’s side they will be a harder proposition to contain. It is clear to see why City are eager to sign Marmoush and what he will add to their squad.

Every indication is that Manchester City are on the verge of completing a deal to sign Omar Marmoush. Based on what City need his addition will immediately make them a better team. The hope is that the deal between City and Eintracht Frankfurt can be completed this week so Pep Guardiola will have another consistent goal-scorer at his disposal.
