The Japanese international was already contracted to the club until next summer but she has signed on again for two more years.
Hasegawa joined Manchester City in summer 2022 following a spell with West Ham United. The player has gone on to make 41 appearances for the club in all competitions to date. Hasegawa has impressed with her calmness on the ball, skill, creativity and ability to pick out a pass.
The midfielder has cemented her place in Gareth Taylor’s Manchester City side and she will be hoping to continue to play a huge part in the club’s successes in the next three-and-a-half years.
After signing her new deal, Hasegawa said “I am extremely happy. I couldn’t be happier.
“One of the biggest reasons I’ve extended is the football style. I love our style. I want to win the league, Champions League and Cup, that’s why I decided to stay here.
“We’ve improved this year and we have built up a lot. I’m so excited because we have a chance to win the league and the cup. I really want to win the league. I want to play in the Champions League, and I want to win it with City.
“The people are nice, the football is good, I’m so happy to be here.”
Hasegawa and Manchester City are next in action on Wednesday evening when they face Manchester United in the group stage of the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup.
