Manchester City are not currently working on a deal to sign Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig.

Olmo has been heavily linked with a potential move to the Premier League after impressing during Spain’s success at Euro 2024. The 26-year-old shared the Golden Boot with three goals, as part of a six-player tie for the accolade, and recorded two assists.

The midfielder became the first Spanish player to score in three consecutive knockout round games at a major tournament and netted the semi-final winner against France.

Manchester City have been credited with interest in signing Olmo, who has a release clause of €60m (£51m) that can be triggered in the coming days, amid doubts over the long-term futures of Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva.

However, Fabrizio Romano has said that sources close to the Citizens claim the club are not currently pursuing a deal for Olmo, who formed part of the Spain team that beat England in the Euro 2024 final on Sunday evening.

Chelsea are also said to be admirers of the player and open to a potential deal, while Barcelona could launch a move to re-sign their former academy graduate if the club fail in their pursuit of Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams.
