Manchester City have made a habit of selling talented young players in recent times. Liam Delap, Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers immediately come to mind and fall into this category. There are a host more who are playing across England and Europe currently. Looking at Manchester City’s under-18 side there is one player who has begun to stand out as a potential world-class prospect. That is attacking midfielder Divine Mukasa. Fabrizio Romano has previously reported that Bayer Leverkusen and Ajax have an interest in potentially signing Divine Mukasa. But it now feels like whatever happens this summer Manchester City must keep Mukasa at the club.

Simply put, Divine Mukasa has had an outstanding season for Manchester City’s under-18 side. He scored again today in their crucial 2-nil win over Blackburn Rovers today. His goal was his 15th of the season to go with 24 assists in 33 appearances in all competitions. Those statistics were sourced from transfermarkt.com which can be seen at the link provided.

The game appears to come easy to Divine Mukasa, as his talent and potential do stand out every time he’s on the pitch.

But it’s not just the goals and assists that stand out in Divine Mukasa’s play. It’s how he plays. He looks to be playing a different game to everyone else on the pitch. With his tremendous vision and technical ability, the game appears to come easily to Mukasa. He almost cruises around the pitch at times. Everything about Mukasa screams a potential world-beater. That’s the reason why Manchester City should do all they can to keep him at the club in the summer. Talents like Divine Mukasa only come around so often and the hope is that he can fulfil his obvious potential as a member of Pep Guardiola’s first team in the near future. He looks to be a player who simply must be kept by Manchester City and his talent nurtured at the club.

It remains to be seen what Manchester City plans to do with Divine Mukasa in the summer. Watching him play for Manchester City’s under-18 side you get the impression that he is almost ready to make the jump into Pep Guardiola’s squad for next season. But whatever happens, they can’t let him leave the club. He’s too special a talent and the hope is he can feature at the Club World Cup in June ahead of training with Pep Guardiola’s squad in the summer. That’s an exciting proposition to ponder rather than seeing him move on like so many other talented young players before him.
