Kyle Walker has asked to leave Manchester City this month, Pep Guardiola has confirmed in the wake of his side's 8-0 thrashing of Salford City.

The veteran defender has been in and out of the Manchester City side this season, and wasn't part of the squad that faced Salford this afternoon.

However, after the game Guardiola confirmed that he could leave in the weeks to come.

“Two days ago, Kyle asked to explore the options to play abroad and end his career”, the Manchester City boss told the media.
