Transfer uncertainty surrounding the future of highly-rated Manchester City prospect Liam Delap has intensified over the weekend after a visit to one Premier League club.

The 21-year-old is in the midst of an important summer for his own personal career, with a pathway into Pep Guardiola’s plans at the Etihad Stadium continuously blocked by the presence of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez in the striking role.

But off the back of a hugely promising season on loan under Liam Rosenior at Hull City last campaign, Delap is unlikely to be short of suitors this summer and is widely expected to be ready to make the jump into Premier League football for the new campaign.

In recent weeks, Delap has already been linked with transfer interest from the likes of Southampton from the English top-flight, whilst there is also admiration from the Italian Serie A and Fiorentina and Bologna.

The latest development concerning the player’s hunt for a new home next season has kept him linked with a move into the Premier League, and an in-person visit to one club targeting stepped up conversations in the coming days and weeks.

According to a new report from Ipswich Town-focussed outlet TWTD, Manchester City striker Liam Delap was at Portman Road last week, but as it stands the player is not close to a move to the newly-promoted Premier League club.

The 21-year-old was pictured arriving at the home ground of Ipswich last Thursday with photos doing the rounds on social media over the weekend.

However, the report reveals that Liam Delap has also ‘visited other clubs’ as the England youth international ‘assesses his options’ for the upcoming season and at present talks regarding a switch to Ipswich have not got under way.

With that being said, and as pointed out by TWTD, Delap’s presence at Ipswich Town over recent days evidently reveals that the striker is on the list of potential recruits for Kieran McKenna’s side.

A move into the Premier League, whether that be to Ipswich Town or another club, would be Delap’s first consistent taste of English top-flight football following three successive loan spells away from the Etihad Stadium.

Delap has spent the last two seasons taking on experiences with Stoke City, Preston North End, and most recently with Hull City, whilst the latter was no doubt the most beneficial of the moves despite a challenging period through injury.

The Manchester City prospect was first thrown into the limelight at the top of English youth football after a stellar period with the Etihad club in Premier League 2, scoring 32 goals and providing eight assists across 32 appearances in the competition.
