The Manchester City midfielder won the Premier League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup during the Blues’ most recent season, with Pep Guardiola’s side winning a record-breaking fourth consecutive league title in May.

Rodri made 50 starts for Manchester City during the recent campaign, scoring nine goals, including a crucial strike against West Ham at the Etihad Stadium on the final day of the season to secure the Premier League title.

The Spaniard has made 257 appearances since signing from Atletico Madrid in 2019, making 50 or more appearances in four of the past five seasons for the Sky Blues.

The midfielder is integral to Guardiola’s squad in east Manchester, and after another stunning campaign with Manchester City, the 28-year-old is set to be rewarded with a bumper new contract at the club.

According to the information of Manchester City insider ‘Tolmie’s Hairdoo’ on X, the Spain international is set to be offered a new long-term contract until 2029, with Etihad bosses preparing to open contract talks with the midfielder following the completion of the Euro’s.

The new deal would see the midfielder become one of the highest earner’s at the Etihad Stadium, earning a similar sum to both Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne.

Rodri has won 11 trophies since moving to the Premier League from La Liga, and scored the winning goal in the UEFA Champions League Final in June 2023, netting in the second-half against Inter Milan to secure an historic European triumph and landmark treble.

The midfielder is one of several key players set for contract extension talks in the coming months, with Phil Foden and Haaland also expected to be offered new deals.
