Manchester City welcome Real Madrid to the Etihad in a huge Champions League clash tonight.

After each missing out on automatic qualification for the Round of 16, the European heavyweights collide in a two-legged play-off tie. It’s the fourth consecutive campaign the clubs have met in the Champions League’s knockout rounds with some classic instalments of a modern rivalry.

City head into the contest having beaten Leyton Orient to progress in the FA Cup at the weekend. Goals from Abdukodir Khusanov and Kevin De Bruyne completed a turnaround after Stefan Ortega’s own goal.

Real Madrid warmed up for the contest with a 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid. The stalemate in the Spanish capital tightened up the title race in La Liga with just two points separating the top three.
