Manchester United have confirmed that defender Luke Shaw will miss the start of the 2024-25 season through injury, joining Leny Yoro on the treatment table.

The left-back, who was absent for the Community Shield shootout defeat to Manchester City, has been struggling for fitness for much of 2024 and managed just one EURO 2024 start for England.

Now, the Red Devils have confirmed Shaw is recovering from a calf injury which he picked up at the beginning of pre-season. They add that he is working to be back after the first international break, which takes place between 2nd and 10th of September.

Should he work to that timeframe, he will miss games against Fulham, Brighton and Liverpool.
