anchester United are prepared to make a surprise swoop for Anwar El Ghazi to bolster their attacking options out wide, according to reports.
The Dutch winger, 28, is a free agent after leaving PSV last week - meaning he could join the Red Devils outside of the transfer window.
The Mail report on El Ghazi fielding interest from Saudi Arabia ahead of United making a final decision on offering him a contract.
Erik ten Hag could do with reinforcements on the wing after Antony was given leave of absence to deal with allegations of assault made by three women in Brazil. He denies all wrongdoing.
Furthermore, the United manager has publicly fallen out with Jadon Sancho over claims he hasn’t worked hard enough in training.
With Amad Diallo injured, it leaves just Marcus Rashford, Facundo Pellistri and Alejandro Garnacho as Ten Hag’s available wingers ahead of games against Brighton and Bayern Munich.
United have already shown their ability to make do and mend in the transfer market having brought back veteran defender Jonny Evans on a one-year deal earlier in the summer.
El Ghazi was on the books at Aston Villa for four years and scored ten Premier League goals in the 2020-21 season before an underwhelming six-month loan spell at Everton, where he made only two substitute appearances.
