Manchester United are reportedly one of two top Premier League clubs eyeing the managerial appointment of Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi.

Amorim has had a difficult start to life at United since he replaced Erik ten Hag in November last year.

Under Amorim, United have won just five of the 17 Premier League games he has overseen, with the club currently languishing in 14th place in the table.

Following United’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal, Amorim is on a three-match unbeaten streak in the top flight but he’s tasted victory in just one game of the side’s last five.

There have been suggestions that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS could make a change in the dugout this summer amidst doubts over Amorim’s long-term suitability.

One manager who has been consistently linked to the Old Trafford hot seat over the past few weeks is Xavi, formerly of Barcelona.

Now, Italian news outlet TuttoSport are reporting that Inzaghi is on United’s radar once more. United are believed to have previously been interested in Inzaghi, as Ten Hag’s successor, but a switch never happened.

In July 2024, he penned a one-year contract extension to extend his stay at Inter until 2026.

According to TuttoSport, Inzaghi is under consideration at United and Tottenham Hotspur “first and foremost.”

The newspaper states that both English teams are prepared to “implement another revolution on the bench,” with Inzaghi being viewed as a potential leader for the transition.

Inzaghi has reportedly never given much attention to interest from rival clubs, and for now, his focus remains on Inter and leading them to a strong finish this season.

Inzaghi won the Serie A title as Inter manager in the 2023/24 season.

Unless things go horribly wrong, United are also likely to stick with Amorim and support him in the market by bringing in reinforcements that better fit his style of play.
