Manchester United are one of three Premier League teams with an interest in snatching exciting young FC Barcelona starlet Marc Casado.

The Catalan club have a reputation for producing some exciting young talents and their production has gone into overdrive lately as Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi and Gavi have all become crucial players for the first team after coming through La Masia.

One more name to add to the list is young defensive midfielder Marc Casado. He has enjoyed a breakthrough year in this campaign, having so far played 10 La Liga games, creating three goals in the process.

The 21 year old has been in fine form, providing those three assists in his last three games and starting in victories over Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and local rivals Espanyol.

United for their part are on the lookout for young midfield talent despite the improved form of veterans Casemiro and Christian Eriksen and will surely look to sign more midfielders in the summer market.

Fichajes report that Casado could be a young player that they turn to.

According to the outlet, “the new FC Barcelona star is already seducing the Premier League” and could be available for the bargain value price of €15 million.

Casado is said to be “in the sights of the Premier League giants”, Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United.

Reportedly it is “his vision of the game and ability to control the pace in the centre of the field”, alongside his “tactical intelligence” which has attracted the interest of some of the biggest sides in English football.

His ability to recover the ball and distribute effectively at only 21 years of age is also highly valued.

The Spanish site consider that United’s interest stems from their desire to renew their squad, especially in the midfield area. They believe that coach Rúben Amorim “has shown interest in players with the ability to adapt to various roles in the midfield, and the Spaniard’s profile fits that description.”

With Barcelona flying high in the league and Europe and the young Catalan getting regular first team action, it seems a long shot that United could convince him to part ways with his boyhood club.

Nonetheless, with Barcelona’s plethora of injured players returning, a possible reduction in first team opportunities might just provide United with the possibility to sneak in and land a very exciting signing, especially for €15 million.
