Article image:Manchester United predicted lineup vs Manchester City

Manchester United is back home on Sunday and has a date with Manchester City in the Premier League. Ruben Amorim's side will be keen to get back to winning ways after a 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday. The form of key players returning from injury will be critical for them.

In the last Manchester derby, the Red Devils triumphed 2-1 after an inspired performance, especially from Amad Diallo. He won't be available against this season. As always the home side’s hopes will again rest on Bruno Fernandes, who was also on the scoresheet that day.

Manchester United's predicted lineup in the Premier League vs Manchester City (3-4-2-1)

Goalkeeper: Andre Onana

The goalkeeper couldn’t do much about the goal they conceded last time. Apart from that, he performed well and is expected to start once again.

Center-Back: Noussair Mazraoui

Mazraoui is a regular in the side. Apart from his failed attempt to stop Elanga, he did well in containing the Forest attack. His ability to support in attack when needed could be an advantage for the home side.

Center-Back: Matthijs de Ligt

The Dutch center-back was on defensively in the last game. However, at the other end, he failed to score when his shot was mishit.

Center-Back: Leny Yoro

The summer signing was back in the starting XI last time and is expected to keep his place. He had an okay game on Tuesday.

Right Wing-Back: Diogo Dalot

The fullback did well going forward without neglecting his defensive duties. He was unlucky with a shot that hit the crossbar. His runs down the wing will be crucial on the break for Ruben Amorim's side.

Center-Midfield: Bruno Fernandes

The captain will once again be central to how Manchester United move forward. His vision and ability to find goals will be vital for the home team once again.

Center-Midfield: Manuel Ugarte

He was taken off at half-time in the last match. Against Manchester City, his energy in midfield will be important. Expect him to start ahead of Casemiro.

Left Wing-Back: Patrick Dorgu

The Dutch fullback made his return to the team after serving a suspension. Despite his efforts to contribute to the attack, he could not make a significant impact. He will be hoping for a better showing at Old Trafford.

Attacking Midfield: Alejandro Garnacho

Garnacho was at the end of many chances and shots, but none came off. He will need to be more efficient as he is expected to start again.

Attacking Midfield: Mason Mount

The Englishman made his return after yet another injury. In his limited time, he looked much better than Joshua Zirkzee and should start on Sunday.

Center-Forward: Rasmus Højlund

Manchester United doesn’t have many choices up top, and among them, Højlund remains their best bet over Zirkzee. He’ll be keen to contribute like he did against Leicester.
