Manchester United have decided to replace Antony with Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, as per reports.
Antony has enjoyed an incredible turnaround in form since moving to Real Betis in the winter window.
The Brazilian winger has amassed four goals and as many assists in Spain so far. Most recently, he impressed with his electric showing against Barcelona, helping his side maintain their brilliant unbeaten streak in La Liga.
Despite his Spanish renaissance, the ex-Ajax man has supposedly no future at United.
According to Fichajes, United are “seriously” considering selling Antony this summer.
Betis are keen on retaining the 25-year-old’s services but they are unlikely to be in a position to meet United’s financial demands. In recent weeks, Atletico Madrid have emerged as a strong contender to sign Antony.
United, meanwhile, are looking to recoup a portion of the €95 million they spent on signing him back in 2022. Further, they have also earmarked his replacement.
The Spanish outlet claim United want to replace Antony with Gittens, who has made headlines with his pace and dribbling ability in the Bundesliga.
The England U21 is capable of playing on both flanks and has managed an impressive 12 goals and four assists in all competitions this season.
It is understood that United are “already planning €75m offer” (£64.1m) for Gittens, who moved to Dortmund from Manchester City in 2020.
The figure is certainly significant but United are thought to be “confident” that the 20-year-old winger is the right signing to replace Antony and improve their attack.
Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming the Englishman would like to leave Dortmund at the end of the season and has already informed the club’s hierarchy of his intentions.
