Manchester United appear to be pushing for Alejandro Garnacho’s transfer to Napoli this summer.

While the Argentine has quickly risen through the ranks at Man United, becoming a regular part of Ruben Amorim’s starting 11, he has struggled in recent times to produce effective performances, struggling to provide the finishing product during the club’s 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest as well as the goalless draw with Manchester City.

With transfer rumours swirling back and forth regarding Garnacho’s potential departure, it has appeared in recent days that the winger is preparing to leave Old Trafford behind.

Last week, The Peoples Person relayed that Garnacho is reportedly willing to sell his property in Bowdon, Greater Manchester.

If that wasn’t enough to strengthen Garnacho’s exit claims, it now appears that United may be willing to lower the player’s price tag in order to facilitate his departure.

CalcioNapoli24 reported today that Napoli view Garnacho as a “little jewel”, thereby supporting reports claiming that he remains one of Napoli’s transfer targets.

The Italian outlet claimed that United will look to decrease their asking price for Garnacho to get a deal over the line, going so far as to drop the Argentine’s price tag to less than €45m.

Should this report prove valid, it would suggest an urgency on the part of United to offload the struggling attacker.

This would be particularly noteworthy given that just last month, it was reported that Napoli were willing to fork out €80m in order to lure the winger to Italy.

What’s more, this price tag would be a club record for Napoli, showing the value they place on the 20 year old.

United’s approach to negotiations over Garnacho could have major implications for the club, particularly since they are reported to be targeting Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in a summer move.

Furthermore, with the Italians reportedly open to offering United a discount to take the Nigerian striker off their hands, Amorim’s openness to dropping Garnacho’s price tag could suggest some reciprocal flexibility in order to get a deal over the line.
