Manchester United have had a disappointing season domestically so far and Ruben Amorim might be quite frustrated with how things have turned out for him this season. They must be looking to make some significant changes in the squad to get back on track the next season. One area that the Red Devils might be looking to strengthen is the attacking department.

The Old Trafford club has struggled for goals and it is quite likely that Marcus Rashford might not play for the club any more. Rasmus Hojlund has also struggled in front of the goal this season and hence the club definitely need a world-class signing who can lead the line for United. The owners are going to support with funds to achieve this in the transfer market.

Manchester United want to sign Raphinha from Barcelona

Spanish news outlet Fichajes has reported that the Red Devils are looking to sign Raphinha from Barcelona this summer. The Brazilian has been the stand-out performer for the Catalan club this season and has arguably been the best player in the world this season. He is currently the favorite to win the Ballon d’Or next season.

Raphinha has scored 13 goals in 27 matches so far in the La Liga 2024/2025 season. Overall, his goals scored per 90 minutes are 0.53. Moreover, Raphinha’s total G/A (goals + assists) is 21 for this season. His goal involvement equates to 0.85 per 90 minutes and his non-penalty xG per 90 minutes is 0.53.

The Brazilian is a spark on the wing. He’s quick—darting past full-backs with ease. His left foot? A wand—curling shots and crosses like a dream. Raphinha’s flair shines; he dances with the ball, unpredictable and slick. He’s got a rocket shot—goalkeepers dread it. Raphinha tracks back, too—grit meets skill. His vision picks out killer passes. Confidence radiates; he takes risks that pay off. In tight spaces, the Barcelona man wriggles free. Goals, assists—he delivers both. A winger with bite, Raphinha’s all about pace, trickery, and clutch moments—a nightmare for any defence.

Will the move go through?

He will definitely strengthen Manchester United’s attack and deliver the goals that they have been missing. Moreover, he also has the experience of shining in the Premier League for Leeds United. Hence, no doubt, the Brazilian will be a world-class signing for Manchester United. However, the main part is that he is the main player under Hansi Flick and Barcelona would not want to part ways with him. The Brazilian is also happy at the club and is also one of the captains of the team. He has a contract till 2027 and it is unlikely that the Catalan club will let him leave for Manchester United this summer.
