Anderlecht have announced that Marco Kana has extended his contract at the club until 2026. With the new deal now in place, the club have given the go ahead for the 21-year-old to move on loan to Kortrijk. Given the new deal, there is no purchase option included in the loan deal and Kana will only be with Kortrijk until the end of the 2023/2024 season.
Kana made his debut as a teenager for Anderlecht during the 2019/2020 season, where he made 15 appearances and scored one goal. Injuries have limited his chances in the first team over the past few seasons, with the midfielder only able to make nine appearances last season. Overall, Kana has played 58 games for Anderlecht and scored one goal. The side have brought in a number of midfielders which would have curtailed Kana’s opportunities to get valuable first team minutes.
the 21-year-old can operate as a central midfielder or as a central defender. Kortrijk have been looking for a more defensively minded midfielder all summer. The Kerel’s are yet to win a game this season. The side were also interested in signing Kristian Arnstad on loan from Anderlecht.
