Mario Lemina reveals what Wolves still need to learn after narrow win | OneFootball

Wolves midfielder Mario Lemina has claimed that his side still need to learn how to control games better after threatening to throw away three points against Sheffield United last Saturday.

The Molineux side took the lead after half an hour through Pablo Sarabia, with the 31-year-old notching his third goal of the season. However, they couldn’t add to their lead and left the door open for Chris Wilder’s side to come back into the game, with Sheffield United ending the game with more shots on target.

Though they held on for all three points (a result that moved Wolves above Newcastle United and into the top half of the Premier League), Lemina insisted that his side need to keep learning.

“It was really difficult to say because at half-time we were really confident with the way we were playing. But sometimes, it not often always goes the way you want it, and second half, they made it really difficult for us, they gave us a lot of pressure and stress with the ball”, he told the Wolves website.

“But we tried to control it and they were good to press us, but it is these kinds of games that we have to learn and try to control more in the second half, but they did well.”

“We tried to be compact, together, strong as a team, and that’s what we did and we deserved the three points”, he added.

“But we all prefer it when we have more control on the games, even these kinds of games to give pleasure to the fans, it’s really difficult because we gave them stress so it wasn’t very good!”

Wolves are in action again on Wednesday night where they play host to Brighton and Hove Albion in the fifth round of the FA Cup, in a tie where fans and players alike will be hoping for an altogether easier night.
