Mark Hudson has revealed his pride at managing Cardiff City in an emotional message that he sent to supporters following his departure.

The former captain was named as Steve Morison’s successor in November but he struggled to make the impact he would’ve wanted with the Bluebirds, with the club deciding to sack Hudson earlier this month.

Whilst the search for his replacement continues, Hudson took to social media to open up on his exit where he reflected on his time in charge of the Welsh side.

You are the lifeblood of the club and the way you supported the team, the coaching staff and my family is a testament to the people of Cardiff and our fans around the world. I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to first captain, then coach and eventually manage this wonderful club.

I leave with a full heart and I look forward to what the future holds for me and my family. I wish the club, players, staff and fans the utmost success moving forward.”

Have any of these 20 current or ex-Cardiff City players ever played for a German club?

Yes No

The verdict

This is a nice touch from Hudson as he was clearly gutted to lose his job but this is a classy statement and it shows just how much the club does mean to him.

So, the fans will certainly appreciate that but they will also understand that it’s the right decision considering the situation the side are in as they battle relegation.

Now, it’s about naming his replacement and it will be interesting to see who the club turn to as they look to improve.
