Roberto De Zerbi’s Marseille have reportedly overtaken Fiorentina in the race for Juventus midfielder Nicolò Fagioli, sending an offer for a loan deal with obligation to buy.

Ligue 1 side Marseille are in advanced talks with Juventus for Fagioli and their latest offer has allowed them to overtake Fiorentina in the race for the Italian midfielder.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Marseille have sent an offer to sign Fagioli on loan with an obligation to buy tied to personal and team targets.

Fiorentina, on the other hand, are only interested in a loan deal with an option to buy, so Marseille are leading the race for the 23-year-old.

Fagioli has been struggling for playing time at Juventus this season, collecting 773 minutes of football across 22 appearances.

His contract at the Allianz Stadium expires in June 2028.

Fagioli, a product of the Juventus academy, has made seven appearances with the Italian national team, making his senior Azzurri debut in 2022.
