Fabrizio Romano understands that Olympique de Marseille have submitted an offer for Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood (22).

Having returned from his loan spell at Getafe, Manchester United are looking to offload Greenwood. That loan move came in the wake of Manchester United’s decision not to re-integrate the academy product after charges of attempted rape and assault against the forward were dropped. Greenwood denied all of the allegations against him.

Once again, the Red Devils are looking to find a solution for Greenwood. Whilst L’Équipe have described the deal as “very difficult”, Romano understands that OM have now submitted an official bid. The Italian journalist added that talks are underway and that an agreement is drawing closer.

Manchester United would be open to once again loaning the Englishman – with an obligation to buy – which may suit Marseille, given the current financial realities facing French teams. The Premier League side would reportedly want a sell-on clause included in the deal.
